27 May 2009

Singapore International Science Challenge 2009 - DAY 0

Arrived at airport at around 8.30pm to pick up my buddies from Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. The plane landed at 9pm, but the girls and their teachers came out only at close to 10pm.

Along with the Russians, we went to the NJC Boarding School. Arrived at around 11.30pm, and once we were there, we brought them to their rooms.

Yeong Ran, Bowon, Je Eun

Chatted with them for a while, before going back home. Was damn tired!

SISC 2009 - Day 1

I accompanied Zi Jia to fetch her buddies form Shanghai High School. Mr Neo apparently left the school without us, so we had to cab there with an SLO attached to SHS. She just talked non-stop and I almost shouted at her to shutup because she was so irritating.

Waiting for the SHS people!

Had an hour to spare, so we brought them to walk around the airport. The teacher's damn funny, he says Zi Jia's name is 'fingernails', and he cleaned out the Coro NTUC's supply of dried mangoes.

Waiting. On the bus back to school. We sat there like for 1 hour? -.-

Nothing to do.

We met Mr Latif's daughter! I think she's mixed? She has ears like Mr Latif. She's called Shiane, and she keeps doing the muacks thing. So funny!

Dinner was unappetizing but it filled me up good enough.

Boarding School Dining Hall. It's quite clean and everythign but a little warm.

Where we worked for the night to produce the newsletter - Operations Room. Apparently we weren't assigned rooms, so we had nowhere to sleep or bathe. When we took one of our fellow SOC member's access card to bathe, Mr Tek (NJC HOD of Science) was apparently very unhappy. Well, not that he said it to us, but he did complain to Jac and guys. Com'on, how old are you?

And not like it's our fault. You expect us to not bathe for 6 days? Some kind of school / teacher.

Nevertheless, we had fun!

MILK. This helped me to survive the night [:

Yan Hui...

"Er can take again? Let me push my specs up."

Sarah "Rah"

The ghost at the corner. There's actually a wheelchair there.

Arrival times and random stuff.

All dead by 4am. Was the only surviving student. Ms Kaur and Ms Champagne were watching movies on their laptops, and HAHA Ms Kaur is so damn funny, shan't say it here.

The work of the teachers :P
SISC 2009 - Day 2

Opening Ceremony!

Yay.
Posed for.

GOH was an alumnus.

Met my juniors [:
Malay Dance...
Some weird contact lense-like thingy.
Woots! Bet NJ/MOE/A*STAR spent a lot.

Yi Le forced me to take it.
Gary.
Yeong Ran!
Je Eun explaining their project to some teachers.
Guess what, Je Eun told me their school has 3 sets of uniform for different seasons, and each set has like different colours. They are free to pick the colours they like! So cool...
Haha.

Zi Jia and Jia Min
Following that, they went to NTU for a visit. Skipped that [:
Dinner.

Yan Hui's mom helped me to buy porridge because I was ill. Thanks, YH's mommy!

Ah.
Buddies working on their Future Problem Challenge
Stayed up until 2am to finish up my GP Comprehension after we finished the newsletter. It was torturous being sick and not being able to go to sleep. :( But I had to finish it because there was GP the next day. We worked in the dining room this time because we got our rooms and can't work at the Operations Room anymore.

SISC 2009 - Day 3
Worke up early for GP Lesson, and went back to hostel to pack stuff to go home.

Finally had time to take pictures of the hostel.

Look what's in the fridge. Kind'a stank.

Room 336. We got a room at the end, and the next 5 rooms or so next to ours was all empty!

There.

Quite ohkay, except that when we entered the previous night, there was a HUGE lizard on the window. When I went in again a while later, the lizard dropped from the ceiling and I got a huge shock.
[More coming up but gotta wait coz school internet connection sucks; I'm blogging at home now]
